The meeting format provides for a 10-minute Service Speaker followed by the Main AA Speaker, who is occasionally from out of the area. Free coffee and refreshments are provided. There is free AA literature and the facility is wheelchair accessible. This is an open meeting and all are welcome to participate. Please come and join us in fellowship! Feel the thrill of service! District 15 service positions rotate every two years and there are mid-term openings from time to time. Read the District Job Descriptions to learn more. Whether you want to chair a committee, help as a committee member, or are simply curious, we invite you to come to one of our monthly District meetings. See our Calendar page for a list of dates. District Meetings are held the second Saturday of every month at 1112 5th St. in Eureka (enter through the rear entrance, off the alley), and about three times per year at 540 Childs Avenue in Crescent City. The business meeting runs from 2:00-4:00 p.m., The Officer's meeting and workshops are held before that. See our Calendar page for a list of dates. To find out what's happening this month, see our News page. Northern California Hospitals and Institutions (H&I) Committee of Humboldt County can always use your help to bring AA to those who so desparately want it, but are inside institutional walls. There may be a position available that's right for you. If you are interested, or if you need more information, please call the answering service (707-442-0711) and ask to speak with someone in Hospitals & Institutions. Or come to the monthly H&I meeting: 3rd Monday • 6:45pm • Senior Resource Center • 1910 California St., Eureka. PI/CPC (Public Information and Cooperation with the Professional Community) meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6pm at the Eureka Senior Center (corners of Del Norte & California Streets, or 1910 California St.), to help us get the word to non-AA entities such as medical, law enforcement, education, and the media. This committee needs individuals to help carry the message outside the rooms of AA. This is a 2 and 2 requirement (2 years sobriety, 2 years of service). Humboldt County Intergroup Answering Service needs volunteers to be on the 12th Step call list. Minimum requirements are one year sobriety and completion of the 12 Steps. Ask your sponsor if this kind of service is right for you. If you are interested, please attend the monthly meeting of the Humboldt County Intergroup, the first Monday of the month at 7PM, 520 E. Street, in Eureka, or call (707) 442-0711 and ask to be connected with the Answering Service Committee Chair. |
